From one of the many Jackson Hole hotels you can fly fish in lakes and streams that are world renowned. From Jackson Hole you can travel to Wyoming, Montana, Eastern Idaho, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. For your trip you can find a map or hire a guide service. Wyoming and Montana
Palisades Reservoir and Green River Lakes are bodies of water in Wyoming that you will find large fish in. The Snake River and the North Platte River Valley are just waiting to introduce you to beautiful scenery and great fishing.
Montana has rivers that were made famous by the explorers that named them. There is Clarks Fork, the Gallatin and the Madison. The Stillwater, Boulder, Yellowstone and Bighorn Rivers are also found in Montana and are well known to fly fishing enthusiasts.
Eastern Idaho
Eastern Idaho is not too far away from Jackson Hole and has the Teton River, the Fall River, the Henry’s Fork of the Snake and the South Fork of the Snake. The Teton River is a slow moving shallower river that is used by fisherman in boats, float tubes and rafts if you prefer that kind of water.
Two National Parks
Lewis Lake, Shoshone Lake and Yellowstone Lake are well known for the large trout that are taken out of them. The areas surrounding these lakes are truly spectacular and are found in Yellowstone National Park. The Madison River, Firehole River and the Lamar River are also found in this national park and have some big trout in them as well. Grand Teton National Park is located at the feet of the Tetons. Jenny Lake is beautiful and you will see canoes and kayaks on the lake as well as fisherman. The Snake River comes out of the Jackson Lake Dam and turns into the South Fork of the Snake when it emerges from Palisades Reservoir. World class fishing is only a hop, skip and a jump from the front door of any one of the Jackson Hole hotels. So start hopping.
